March 11-12, 2008 - Advocacy Day
All NAFSA members are encouraged to travel to the nation’s capital to
talk with their members of Congress on issues related to international
education and exchange. This is the one time of year that NAFSA brings
members to DC to meet their elected officials.
March 10-11, 2008 - Washington Symposium
NAFSA's 2008 Washington Symposium will explore the development and
implementation of U.S. foreign policy and what changes international
educators might expect under a new administration. Symposium
participants will have an opportunity to interact with key foreign
policy experts from government and academia.
February 29, 2008 - Application deadline for the Second Annual 2008 Internationalization Grant Award Competition. Up to
$15,000 will be awarded for a one-year period to three public
institutions of higher education to implement sustainable programs that
seek to internationalize their majors, core curricula and foreign
language programs with some impact on international student enrollment
or sending West Virginia students abroad.
December 14, 2007 - Deadline for all public state universities in West Virginia to submit an updated Internationalization Action Plan to the CIHE Council outlining international goals and objectives. Institutions must submit an action plan in order to be eligible to participate in the Second Annual 2008 Internationalization Grant Award Competition.

November 1-2, 2007 - FACDIS Workshops 2007: Learning from the Developing World. Lakeview Resort and Conference Center, Morgantown. More details on the FACDIS website. September 28, 2007 - Training Workshop to Implement Statewide WV-ISEP Study Abroad Consortium. The
Higher Education Policy Commission, as part of its plan to strengthen
international education and global awareness programs on the campuses
of the public four-year colleges and universities in West Virginia will sponsor a study abroad workshop, Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Lakeview Resort and Conference Center in Morgantown.
The workshop, entitled “Implementing a Statewide Study Abroad
Consortium,” seeks to help each institution to make a study abroad
experience a reality for a larger number of students.
