Bachelor’s in Mathematics – Fairmont State University
The Bachelor’s in Mathematics degree program is to equip students with analytic and problem-solving skills for careers or graduate study. Classes develop a student‘s ability to apply mathematical methods and ideas to problems in mathematics and other fields. Students learn to communicate ideas effectively, assimilate new information, and to be self-reliant learners. Mathematics majors will be able to understand and apply skills related Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, and other areas of inquiry.
Students who are interested in the Fairmont State University Mathematics program can choose among three degrees. They include:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, as preparation for immediate employment or for graduate school

Bachelor of Arts in Education degree with a Math 5-Adult comprehensive specialization as preparation for teaching mathematics *

* Student receiving a Bachelor’s in Education also earn a Bachelor’s in Mathematics.
