Bachelor’s in Medical Imaging – Marshall University

The Bachelor’s in Medical Imaging degree program prepares students for professional employment as a radiographer or sonographer.

Graduates of Medical Imaging are eligible to take either the primary certification in radiography administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or sit for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vasular Sonography exam.

Students are required to choose from one of the following their senior year.

Areas of Emphasis for Medical Imaging Students:

  • Mammography

  • Medical Imaging Management Advanced Practice

  • CT/MRI Advanced Practice

  • Cardiovascular/Interventional Advanced Practice

Areas of Emphasis for Sonography Students:

  • Abdominal/OB-GYN

  • Vascular

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or better on a scale of 4.0

  • Negative Drug Screen and Background check. These are done at the applicants expense.

  • ACT Score of 21

  • Grade of C or better in: BSC 227, BSC 228, PHY 101, 101L, CHM 203, MTH 121 (or higher)
