Bachelors in Accountancy – Bluefield State College

Bluefield State College’s Bachelor of Accountancy program is primarily designed to prepare students with an intensive examination of all facets of accounting that will qualify him or her to pursue various career opportunities within the accounting profession. The course will prepare students to understand the tax codes of both the United States and the state of West Virginia, and be capable of completing income tax returns for both entities.

Graduates will have an in-depth understanding of accounting principles, and will be capable of developing basic financial statements for various types of organizations. They will also be capable of designing and implementing accounting systems, including identifying the information requirements and conducting cost/benefit analysis of a system. They will be able to identify the duties, responsibilities, reporting requirements, and ethical guidelines for auditors, and be capable of fulfilling this role in an organizational setting.
