The Exercise Science program integrates the theories and practicalities of exercise physiology in preparing graduates for a career in the field of health and fitness. This is achieved through an understanding of the science of human movement and physiology, coupled with essential hands-on experiences that culminate in an internship in a health/fitness facility. Students in the Exercise Science program have the opportunity to actively participate in faculty and student research projects, thus expanding their professional knowledge and abilities, and preparing them for the expectations of advanced study in Exercise Science and health-related fields. Additionally, the program prepares students for advanced study in related fields such as exercise physiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. Students also have the opportunity to actively participate in faculty research projects, thus expanding their professional knowledge and abilities.
Students interested in studying Exercise Science may choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree or a minor.
