Bachelor’s in Exercise Science – Marshall University

Exercise Science is a scientific field of study that focuses on the anatomical, biomechanical, biochemical, and physiological aspects with application to exercise.

A Bachelor’s in the Exercise Science program includes instruction in Basic Science, Basic and Clinical Exercise Physiology, Biochemistry in Exercise, Biomechanics, Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription, Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, and internship.

Students focus on one of two areas of emphases:

  • Applied Exercise Physiology

Applied Exercise Physiology Emphasis is for students who seek their careers as exercise and fitness specialists.

  • Clinical Exercise Physiology

Clinical Exercise Physiology Emphasis is for students who seek postgraduate degrees in health and medical fields. Students and their advisors will select suitable courses for their own career goals.
