Areas of Emphasis:

  • Advertising Communications

    • The Bachelor’s in Communications degree with an emphasis in Advertising Communications is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in account management, media planning, and media sales and research.

  • Broadcasting

    • The Bachelor’s in Communications degree with an emphasis in Broadcasting is designed to build upon student skills. Students will learn to produce journalist video stories using professional video camera, use AVID editing systems,  operate studio production equipment associated with live news broadcasts, and will be able to write, produce, and direct live studio productions.

  • Integrated Communication Studies

    • The Bachelor’s in Communications degree with an emphasis in Integrated Communication Studies prepares students for careers in communication consulting, health communication, sales, human resources, public relations, event planning, etc. This emphasis also prepares students for farther graduate study.

  • Journalism

    • The Bachelor’s in Communications degree with an emphasis in Journalism provides students with the theory and practice for a career in journalism. Students will learn reporting techniques, interviewing skills, basic and specialized writing, editing and design, and visual presentation. Exposure legal and ethical issues are also studied.

  • Public Relations

    • The Bachelor’s in Communications degree with an emphasis in Public Relations prepares students to become invested and profession PR practitioners. PR practitioners help build and maintain the relationships that are essential to an organization’s success by applying strategic, critical thinking. and writing skills.
